I can't say enough wonderful things about our library bookstores. The only bad thing is that I don't know where to put all the wonderful books we find there. (My mom, a retired librarian, volunteers at the smaller, but no less impressive one, and regularly brings gifts of books!) We are book loving family.
In May the kids did a read-aloud book challenge and I told them if they weren't one of the official winners (it was an online, world wide event), I would take them to the library bookstore. They weren't winners, we finally got there yesterday and boy, did we score. I had to put books back. Lots of books.
This is what we came home with (below)...22 books in total, 8 of them Jan Brett books we didn't already have (I love her books), and the most expensive book we bought was $2.50. (That was Beautiful Earth, which is a gorgeous book, and pay day for mamma was that Little Brown Mouse spotted it, looked at it, and said "Mamma, I think we need to get this one." At home, he poured over it for awhile.) I very happy with a few other finds, too, and then there were a few extras chosen by the kiddos.
Beautiful Earth...written in 4 languages!
